The Retiree

Wife’s brother-in-law’s daughter sent me a woolly mammoth soft squishy toy that was dug out of the ice from a real woolly mammoth in Siberia. I will display it proudly on a table until Wife takes it away from me.

She took it away and put it on a shelf.

I have other artifacts displayed that she may decide to toss, such as a tin match holder and a paisley duck, that could meet the same end if I’m not careful.

Retirees tend to accumulate things that they will never need, like hockey skates, mattocks, tow chains and bicycles that are too good to toss and too hard to use.

And they keep things that they like but don’t need, like collections of foreign beer coasters.

I think my sense of humor needs bolstering.
