The Maple Lake gymnastics team ended its season at the section tournament in Morris on Saturday, Feb. 17.
The Irish finished fourth with 126.15 points behind New London-Spicer in first (142.725), Willmar in second (139.475) and Benson-KMS in third (137.4). Eight teams competed. Despite fierce competition the girls had a good day and ended the season on a high note, Irish coach Kaitlyn Helmbrecht said.
Highlights include Lily O’Donnell’s 10th place finish in the all-around. She also had a “great” performance on the floor,” Helmbrecht said.
Joanna Hall competed on the bars following an injury in the gym last week and was able to finish her high school career, and Ashley Gaffaney had a strong showing on the beam.
