Letter to the editor

Did you ever wonder where the government gets the money to operate? Here is a list of basic ways that the government steals your money.

Work for it –   they charge income tax

Live in a home  – you pay property tax

Purchase items  = you pay sales tax

Save money =  you pay income tax

Start a business = you pay license fees

Own a good company = tax the profits

give it away = gift tax

Die = inheritance tax

Buy a car = sales tax and many fees. I’m sure there are many more. The state has just announced a projected 3.7 billion dollar surplus. Proof that the economy is strong or are we just paying more sales tax because the prices of what we buy are so much more? Does anyone really know if these numbers are true? It gets harder to believe the BS that comes out of the mouths of these professional politicians. We need term limits. Don’t hold your breath.
