Members of the community were invited to say goodbye to their 2023-2024 Maple Lake Royalty and meet this year’s candidates at an open house on Saturday, March 2 at the American Legion. Visitors enjoy food, split the pot and a cash raffle. They were also invited to look at pictures documenting some of the fun times had by royalty during their reign. At right, Little Miss Candidates Olivia Decker, front and Aurora Knapp look at Olivia’s About Me poster. Four candidates will vie for Little Miss Maple Lake, one for Junior Princess and two for Miss Maple Lake. Coronation is at 5:30 p.m. Saturday, March 16 at Maple Lake High School Auditorium. Tickets are $6 or $5 with a food shelf donation. The girls are having a contest on who brings in the most volume of food by weight (excluding water). Come support your candidate and the local food shelf.
