An adult male with outstanding warrants was shot when Wright County deputies tried to arrest him early this week.
According to the Wright County Sheriff’s Office, on Monday, April 15 at approximately 1 p.m. deputies responded to the Dollar General in Montrose to attempt the apprehension of an adult male for outstanding arrest warrants. Deputies attempted to take the adult male into custody after he exited the store. The adult male refused to comply with commands and brandished a firearm. Less than lethal measures were deployed.
According to the Sheriff’s Office, the male continued to resist arrest while brandishing the firearm. A Wright County Deputy discharged their firearm, striking the adult male. The adult male was taken into custody and emergency aid was rendered by Wright County Deputies. The adult male was transported by ambulance from the scene.
