Police pursuit ends in rollover

A police pursuit that ended in St. Michael resulted in injuries, Sunday, April 21 for a La Crescent man. There was evidence of possible alcohol consumption, according to Wright County deputies.

At approximately 10:25 p.m., Sunday, the Wright County Sheriff’s Office responded to a traffic complaint of a motorist who was driving erratically.

According to the Sheriff’s Office, a Wright County Deputy located the vehicle in the City of Otsego. The deputy activated their emergency lights and attempted to initiate a traffic stop. The suspect vehicle, a 1999 Dodge Dakota pickup, immediately fled from the deputy. The suspect vehicle travelled south on Quam Av. eventually merging onto Hwy. 101 southbound. Deputies continued to pursue the suspect south on Hwy 101 to the off ramp of 45th ST. NE in the city of St. Michael.

According to the Sheriff’s Office, contact was made between the suspect vehicle and a Wright County Deputy’s vehicle on the off ramp of 45th ST. NE. The contact caused the suspect vehicle to rollover.  Wright County Deputies and emergency responders from the St. Michael Fire Department were able to extricate the driver from the vehicle who was then air lifted to Regions Hospital. The driver was identified as Corey Pratt, a 44 year old from La Crescent. Pratt suffered injuries from the incident. There was evidence located by deputies of possible alcohol consumption and impairment. This incident is under further investigation.
