Earl Thomas Pribyl , Maple Lake

Earl T. Pribyl, age 85, of Maple Lake, died Saturday, May 4, 2024, at his home surrounded by his family under the care of hospice.

Memorial Services will be held 11:00 a.m. Monday, May 13, 2024, at Bethlehem United Church of Christ, Maple Lake with visitation one hour prior to the service. Pastor Marc Well Nagel will officiate. A luncheon will follow at the church with burial at 1:30 p.m. at Acacia Cemetery, Clearwater. Memorials are preferred to Bethlehem United Church of Christ.

Earl Thomas Pribyl was born May 24, 1938, to Thomas and Wilma (Dalman) Pribyl at his grandparents’ home in Maple Lake. Earl grew up on the family farm in Maple Lake Township. On February 19, 1960, Earl was united in marriage to Carol Hansen at the Clearwater United Methodist Church. They made their home on the same property as the farm. He lived there his entire life, until 3 years ago when they moved down the road. For over 40 years, Earl worked for the same company, retiring as a supervisor; the company manufactured cardboard and was known as St. Regis, Georgia Pacific, and PCA.

Earl found true joy and fulfillment in spending time with his family. He cherished creating lasting memories with his grandchildren, and embarking on adventures with his beloved wife, Carol. From traveling to Florida to attending country music festivals, camping, fishing, and duck hunting, Earl’s zest for life was evident in every activity he pursued. He was a skilled craftsman, known for his ability to fix anything in his garage or at church. He had a passion for working outdoors. Although he had a quiet way about him, he was blessed with a good sense of humor. Earl was also known to win a game or two, even when sleeping.

He is survived by his wife of 64 years, Carol of Maple Lake Township; children, Dawn Pribyl of St. Louis Park and Rick (LuAnn) Pribyl of Buffalo; grandchildren, Thomas (Jenna) Pribyl, Charles Pribyl, Nicholas (Carly) Pribyl, and William Pribyl; great-grandchildren, Aiden, Lily, Eliana, and Kendall; brother, Kenneth of Silver Creek; brothers-in-law, Pete (Pat) Hansen and Bill Sharratt; and other family members and friends. He was preceded in death by his parents; sister, Elaine (Eugene) Ertel; brothers-in-law and sisters-in-law, Bernice Pribyl, Ruth Sharratt, Judy (Ray) Helgeson, and Helen (Earl) Peterson.

Thomas Pribyl, Charles Pribyl, Nicholas Pribyl, William Pribyl, and Aiden VaughnPribyl will serve as urn bearers. Arrangements entrusted to Dingmann Funeral Care Burial and Cremation Services of Maple Lake.
