Throughout history, one of the most popular ways to say I love you on Mother’s Day is through flowers.
Fortunately, the Maple Lake American Legion Riders have you covered.
Mother’s Day is Sunday, May 12 and on Saturday, May 11, the Legion Riders will host their Annual Plant Sale at the Maple Lake American Legion parking lot. This popular event starts at 9 a.m. and historically sells out fast.
“Last year we had 75 baskets and sold out in 45 minutes,” Legion Riders Director Dwight Koenen said.
The event is so well liked – mostly because the $20 flat rate for all hanging baskets is a steal – people have taken to lining up in the parking lot before 9 a.m. only to rush in when a timer set by the Legion Riders goes off.
This year the Legion Riders have stocked 100 hanging baskets, but Koenen still doesn’t expect them to last long. They go on a first-come-first serve basis, so get there early, he said.
The Maple Lake American Legion Riders will hold their fifth Annual Plant Sale on Saturday, May 11 at the American Legion parking lot in Maple Lake starting at 9 a.m. but get there early. These well priced baskets go fast.
