Golfers shoot team lows

Golfers competed in windy conditions, Tuesday, April 23 at a Wright County Conference West competition at Southbrook Golf Course in Annandale.

The Howard Lake-Waverly-Winsted/Maple Lake team finished fifth out of eight teams with 359 strokes.

Larson Melgaard led the HLWW/ML team with an 83 on the18-hole course; Brayden Fobbe also had an 83; Mason Mochinski shot a 99; Caleb Boese shot a 101 and Sam Lueck shot a 106.

Palmer Dalton was the meet medalist with a 76. He was also part of the winning New London-Spicer team that shot 326. Annandale was second with 340; Dassel-Cokato was third with 349; Watertown-Mayer was fourth with 352; Glencoe-Silver Lake was sixth with 366 and Litchfield and Rockford tied for seventh with 374 strokes.

The HLWW/ML team competed again on Tuesday, April 30 at Litchfield. Results were not available at press time.

On Wednesday, May 1, they compete at Southbrook at 10 a.m.; on Monday, May 6 they golf at Glencoe Country Club at 1 p.m.
