New business breaks ground Lucky Charms Childcare to open in Maple Lake

It took a lot of people to get Lucky Charms Childcare and Preschool in Maple Lake off the ground and running, and everyone who had a hand in it wanted to participate in the groundbreaking last week. Pictured above, on the left of the sign are owners Danielle Norgren and Shayna Nix (second row, fifth and sixth from left) surrounded by their families and daycare families on the construction site with shovels in hand. To the right of the sign are the different people and agencies involved in making their dream of owning a daycare center a reality starting with Maple Lake Mayor Lynn Kissock and looking right, Missy Meidinger of Wright County Economic Development Partnership, Barry Kirchoff of America’s Small Business Development Center Central Region, Stephanie Sanvig of First Children’s Finance and Julie Hudek of Star Bank.

Co-owners Danielle Norgren and Shayna Nix hosted a ceremonial groundbreaking on Friday, May 24th on the 6,300 square foot childcare and preschool center they plan to have built this summer on this 1 1/2-acre site just west of the Dollar General in Maple Lake. The center will be licensed for 91 children aged six weeks to 12 years old with five classrooms, six teachers plus assistants and aids and before and after school care. The women hope to open by mid-August.
