Third annual block party

Maple Lake may be a small town, but it has plenty of opportunities. Whether you are looking for a product, service or a career, this small town has a lot to offer and that’s what Maple Lake’s Industrial Development Group is trying hard to get folks to realize.

Maple Lake’s Industrial Park alone is home to 13 businesses including MP Nexlevel, which is just outside the industrial park. At any given time, there can be dozens of jobs open. Most of those jobs are with MP because they have a nationwide presence, but even without MP, there is plenty of opportunity, said Tom Paumen, owner of Cedar Lake Engineering in Maple Lake and one of the founders of the industrial group.

“Everyone has entry level positions open at times that don’t require any prior skill or prior knowledge and everyone here is willing to train. At the same time, we have our positions for skilled workers too,” Paumen said.

Maple Lake also offers a unique place for consumers to shop. On Thursday May 16, many of those businesses will gather at the V by HH from 4 to 7 p.m. for the third annual Block Party. This block party/business expo includes free, live entertainment by the Mitch Gordon Band, food and drink, cash prizes and most importantly, a chance to be involved in the community, network locally and learn more about what this town has to offer. Businesses from both the industrial park and throughout the city will be represented.

The Mitch Gordon Band will perform live at the third annual Block Party onThursday, May 16 at the V by HH in Maple Lake from 4 to 7 p.m. Enjoy free entertainment, food and drink, cash prizes and most importantly, a chance to be involved in the community, network locally and learn more about what Maple Lake has to offer.
