Irish Anglers find trophy bass on Clearwater Lake

Thirteen Irish Anglers wet their lines in Clearwater Lake Wednesday, July 10 where several fish were caught including two trophy bass.

Placing first was the team of Joey Novotney and Dalton Kuperus. Novotney caught three bass – 15 inches, 13 inches and 14 ¼ inches – and Kuperus caught three bass including a trophy-sized 18 ½ incher. His other point-worthy catches were 15 inches and 12 inches long.

Finishing in second place was the team of Carter Colbenson, Aiden Parchem and Jeremiah Schafer. Colbenson reeled in a 15 ½ inch and 14 inch bass for points; Parchem netted a 15 ½ inch and 12 inch bass and Schafer caught a 17 ½ inch bass and 16 ¾ inch bass.

There was a three-way tie for third place. Hans Peterson landed a trophy 18 ½ inch bass and that was all it took for him and teammate Drake Strzyzewski to capture third.

The team of Hayden and Henry Pagel finished third thanks to Hayden’s 15 ¼ inch and 15 ¾ inch bass. The team of Tucker Siegler and Brolin Chlan was the other third place finisher thanks to Siegler’s 15 ½ inch and 13 ¾ inch bass.

Volunteer boat captains for Wednesday night were John Novotny, Karl Parchem, Dan Peterson, Rhonda Pagel, Brandon Deyo and Steve Peterson.
