The Maple Lake Library has announced its latest Art Exhibit, featuring the wide-ranging artwork of Wayne Hein, to take place between August 5 and September 27.
Hein, a Buffalo resident, is an award-winning artist who identifies himself as a “painter and drawer”. He works in many mediums including oil, watercolor, gouache, acrylic, ink, charcoal, and pencil. He is a prolific artist whose body of work is comprised of nature scenes, portraits, illustrations, and so much more.
After attending the University of Minnesota, Hein graduated from the School of Associated Arts. For 26 plus years he served as an art director, graphic designer and illustrator for five firms. During the following 15 years, as a self-employed artist, he worked with several more firms. Throughout his long history of creating art, including package design, he received many awards.
In addition to being an artist Hein is a Marine, having served in the United States Marine Corps in 1968 – 1970. After a year spent in Vietnam, 1968-1969, he returned home to his wife Connie and their first born.
