SUMMARY PUBLICATION
ORDINANCE NO. 2024-03
The City Council of the City of Maple Lake has adopted Ordinance 2024-03, titled “AN INTERIM ORDINANCE AMENDING ORDINANCE NO. 2023-05 REGARDING CANNABIS-RELATED BUSINESSES WITHIN THE CITY OF MAPLE LAKE.” The ordinance invokes the City’s authority to enact a moratorium under Minnesota Statutes, section 462.355, subdivision 4 and is intended to clarify that Ordinance No. 2023-05 (“Cannabis Business Moratorium”) applies to license preapprovals, early cultivation, and medical cannabis businesses notwithstanding recent legislative amendments. The intent of the proposed ordinance is to supplement the Cannabis Business Moratorium and provide clarity to businesses and to ensure the City’s planning process is protected while the Office of Cannabis Management continues to develop the regulatory framework around cannabis in Minnesota. The full text of the ordinance is available for inspection at Maple Lake City Hall during regular business hours.
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED, by the City Council of the City of Maple Lake, Wright County, Minnesota, that the City Administrator keep a copy of the ordinance at City Hall for public inspection during business hours and post a full copy of the ordinance at the community library or another public place in the City.
