Cross country teams starts season at home

The Maple Lake cross country teams kicked off the season with their one and only home meet on Friday, Aug. 30 at Ney Park.

Eleven teams were represented out of which the Irish girls finished seventh and the boys were ninth.

Girls results

Freshman Lauren Anglin was the first Irish across the finish line in the girls race. She completed the 5K in 24:08.50 for 28th place. Eighth grader Peyton Walberg was 40th for the Irish with a time of 26:18.30; Khloe Uecker was 44th in 27:01.30; Jenna Kronenberg was 45th in 27:40.30 and Abby Gindele was 52nd in 29:23.30.

The Mound-Westonka team finished first with 36 points; St. John’s Prep was second with 39 points and Annandale was third with 70. Louise Ruzanic of St. John’s was the meet winner with a time of 20:45.30.
