Irish runners have their race in Holdingford

The weather was perfect for racing Thursday, Sept. 5 when the Irish cross country team headed up to Holdingford for the annual Mark Alcorn Invitational.

This is traditionally one of the hottest meets of the year for the Irish, but not this season. The mild temperatures produced some improved and some personal best times for Irish runners.

Blake Stoeber led the varsity boys squad with a personal best time of 19:31.3 for 19th place, and freshman Lauren Anglin cracked the top 20 in a competitive field to lead the varsity girls squad and improve upon her previous race time by 1 minute and 40 seconds. She ran the 5K in 22:28 for 19th place overall.
