Maple Lake volleyball team improves to 11-5

The Maple Lake High School volleyball team improved to 11-5 after a 6-1 week on the road.

After falling to Annandale to start the week off, the Irish recovered with a decisive win over Holdingford then cleaned up at a Pierz tournament where they didn’t loose a single match.

The Irish traveled to Annandale, Tuesday, Sept 17 where they suffered a tough loss to the Cardinals after a long battle. Game scores were 17-25, 25-22, 18-25, 25-16 and 6-15.

Avery Lee was 16 for 16 serving with two aces against the Annandale team. She also had 12 kills, 17 assists and 12 digs; Alex Kiebel was 10 for 13 serving with 16 kills, 15 assists, six digs and two blocks; Maddy Lind was 10 for 13 serving with 11 digs; Sydney Breimon was 6 for 8 serving with two kills and 11 digs; Grace Ronnenberg was 2 for 2 serving with one ace, one kill, one dig and one block; Danica Hageman was 15 for 18 serving with three kills, 14 digs and two blocks; Addison Kramer was 21 for 22 serving with seven aces, two kills, one assist, seven digs and one bock and Abby Linder had three kills, two digs and three blocks.

The Irish served 87 percent as a team with 10 aces and 39 digs.
