Daniel J. Cantin, age 50, of Montrose, died unexpectedly on Friday, September 27, 2024. A gathering in celebration of Dan’s life will be held from 12-2 p.m. on Friday, October 4, 2024, at Dingmann Funeral Care

Chapel in Maple Lake with a Ceremony at 1:30 p.m. Daniel Joseph Cantin was born to Robert, Sr. and Judith (Rudolph) Cantin on October 11, 1973, in Maple Lake, Minnesota, the youngest of four children. He

was raised in Maple Lake. Dan was a man of varied passions; he had a love for baking bread, cooking, and

wrenching on cars. Conversations about UFOs and ghost theories were among his favorite topics.

Although Dan faced challenges in his life, particularly with addiction, his approach to life was marked by courage and strength. His family hopes his memory and his story will inspire understanding and compassion toward those struggling with similar battles. Dan leaves behind his two children, his

son, Travys Daniel Cantin, born to him and Desiree Guillen, in 2002, and his daughter, Tatum Oakleigh Cantin, born to him and his fiance, Stefanie Hanson, in 2016; Stefanie was his biggest supporter. He is also

survived by his brothers and sisters, Robert Cantin of Minneapolis, Dawn Cantin Miller of Springfield, MO, and Scott Cantin of Waverly; and a large circle of extended family, including nieces, nephews, and friends. He was preceded in death by his parents, Robert and Judith Cantin; and his grandparents, Leo and Marie Cantin, and Clifford and Blanche Rudolph.
