In response to Steve Fobbe’s letter to the editor in last week’s Messenger, I will try to clear up the issue of the signs that say “Make America Great Again.”
I was told by a friend of mine that you (Steve Fobbe) had a sign in your yard after the last Presidential election that read “The Grownups Are Back In Charge.” So, let’s see what the grownups (democrat party) have accomplished over the past four years. The first thing the grownups did was to shut down a pipeline and gas prices went from $2.00 per gallon to $4.00 overnight. Because of the cost of gas the prices of eggs went from $1.99 a dozen to $3.99 a dozen along with a huge price hike for other goods and services.
The second thing the grownups did was to put a stop on the construction of building the border wall to protect our borders.
The third thing, for some reason the grownups want to keep killing our kids in foreign wars and not to mention the trillions of dollars of taxpayers money they have sent to Ukraine to keep that war going.
Under the kids (Republican Party) in charge for four years, the wall was being built to protect our borders, gasoline was at $2.00 a gallon and we were energy dependent and our kids did not have to go to war and die in other foreign countries. Maybe the signs should read “Keep America Safe & Affordable for Everyone” instead. So now that the two parties have both been in charge for four years, the people can make a choice on what four years they were better off.
