The independent, all-volunteer Maple Lake Library hosted its annual fundraiser on Saturday, Oct. 12 at The American Legion in Maple Lake.
The event supports about 45 percent of the library’s yearly expenses and offers a fun way for the community to give with a silent auction, cash raffles and other games.
Although a smaller crowd than years past, fundraiser goers enjoyed chance buckets, split the pot, a wine roll, Punch -O- Rama, game night and more. Hors d’ oeuvres were catered by the Legion’s own Monica.
The totally volunteer-run library depends heavily on donations from the community. Their budget includes limited funding from the City of Maple Lake, Wright County, and a few surrounding townships, but the majority comes from private people and local business donations. This is their biggest fundraiser of the year.
