Unused medications left in cupboards, drawers, and cabinets can pose a risk for loved ones. To remove the risk and protect family, friends, and pets, it is important to properly dispose of these medications.
National Drug Take Back Day is October 26th. From 10 a.m.-2 p.m. on that day, medication drop sites will be open at Coborn’s Grocery Store in Albertville (5698 La Centre Avenue) and Citizens State Bank of Waverly – Montrose Office (145 Nelson Boulevard).
This is a safe, convenient, and responsible way for community members to dispose of their unwanted, unused, and expired medications at different locations in Wright County.
The Wright County Sheriff’s Department is partnering with Wright County Public Health and Wright County’s local substance use prevention coalition, Mentorship, Education, and Drug Awareness (MEADA), to host these two Take Back Day sites.
These locations will accept vaping cartridges if the battery is removed. No liquids will be accepted. The medication should remain in its original container and all identifying information should be blacked out. If the original container is unavailable, the medication should be sealed in a plastic bag.

The United States Drug Enforcement Administration coordinates two National Drug Take Back Days each year to bring awareness to and provide safe disposal opportunities across the nation.
