The Maple Lake High School cross country team ended its season at the Section 5A championship meet at Grand National Golf Club in Hinckley last week.
The Irish made the trip north on Thursday, Oct. 24 for a shot at a state meet berth. No one from the Maple Lake team advanced.
Lauren Anglin was the top Irish finisher for the girls. She finished 29th out of 114 competitors with a time of 21:36.10. Hayden Dircks was the top Irish finisher for the boys. He was 31st out of 142 runners in a time of 18:10.20.
Close on Dircks’ heals was teammate Blake Stoeber who finished 33rd in 18:18.10. Tristin Stoeber finished with a time of 21:43.10 for 121st place; Carter Ertel was 124th in 21:46.10; Elijah Dorse was 131st in 22:40.10; Nick Kramer was 135th in 23:14.20 and Brolin Chlan finished with a time of 24:49.60 for 139th place.
On the girls side, Khloe Uecker finished 65th in 23:16.10; Leni Leithner was 84th in 24:52.10; Jenna Kronenberg was 93rd in 25:37.10; Abby Gindele was 94th in 25:44.10 and Peyton Walberg finished with a time of 27:00.10 for 101st place.
