Local Boy Scout Steven Borgert is one step closer to attaining Scouting’s highest rank – Eagle Scout.
Borgert recently completed his Eagle Scout project that completely renovated three outdoor classrooms at Pinewood Elementary School in Monticello.
These classrooms had been deteriorating for many years and the areas were mostly unusable for teaching and activities. Despite the ramshackle state, the classrooms each have an excellent seating area and allow for a more relaxed environment for teaching when the weather is nice.
Borgert heard about the opportunity through a fellow Scout and decided to take on the project and complete it before the colder weather arrived.
