The new playground Maple Lake Elementary School is set to receive this summer has been given a name.
School officials reached out to students, families and the community to get suggestions then put them to a vote by the elementary student body. The winning name is “Irish Acres.”
Excitement about the new playground has been growing since the school board approved the project in November. As soon as school is out for the summer, GameTime will install two new play structures purchased by the school district to replace the 34-year-old Centennial Playground.
