The Maple Lake High School track and field team kicked off its season on Thursday, March 20th at the CMC Indoor Meet at St. John’s University Fieldhouse.
Irish athletes went into the competition with only eight days of practice under their belts and several athletes missing due to the impending spring break and Spain trip. The girls finished fifth out of seven teams, and the boys were fourth.
“It was pretty chaotic,” Coach Ben Youngs said, but offered a “quick glimpse of what the season will bring.”
