The Maple Lake boys’ basketball team ended a drought with a playoff win, Monday, March 3 in round one of the Section Tournament against North Lakes Academy.
This was the second match-up of the season for these two teams. The first took place at the Target Center and ended in a loss for the Irish. Monday’s game took place on North Lakes’ home turf and ended in a 76-60 win for the Irish.
This was Maple Lake’s first road sectional win in “quite some time,” Irish Head Coach Bryan Schleif said.
The Irish (No. 9 seed) spent several days working on a game plan to come out on top over North Lakes Academy (No. 8 seed) and when it came time, they executed it well.
