The Wright County Sheriff’s Office took another step forward in the process of implementing Body Worn Cameras last week.
A short county board meeting on Tuesday, April 1 ended with a similarly brief public hearing to allow input and comment on the Sheriff’s Office draft Body Worn Camera policy.
According to Minnesota Statute, a local law enforcement agency must provide an opportunity for public comment before it purchases or implements a portable recording system.
Before opening the hearing, Deputy Sheriff Matt Treichler told commissioners that the Sheriff’s Office did not receive any public feedback on the policy by email, phone or letter.
When Board Chairman Darek Vetsch opened the hearing no one was there to speak at that time either. He closed the meeting after a few minutes.
