The City of Maple Lake is asking for residents’ input on how to make city streets and sidewalks safer.
The request is part of the City’s Safe Streets for All Plan, which the City received federal money to develop. The action plan will enhance roadway safety for drivers, pedestrians, bicyclists and other users within Maple Lake.
Residents are invited to share on an interactive map where they think problem areas are in the city. For instance, at least one person has already indicated the intersection of Spruce Ave. N. and Hwy. 55 at the Dollar General is a safety concern. Other concerns include the intersection of Maple Ave. N. and Hwy. 55 where people cross to get to Subway and Amoco and another one is on Hwy. 55 East where people cross to get to the beach.
