Work Zone Awareness Week

By Wright County Communications

At its April 15 meeting of the Wright County Board of Commissioners, the board proclaimed April 21-25 as National Work Zone Awareness Week in Wright County.

“As thousands of men and women move forward to repair our streets, it is of great timeliness that we pass this resolution recognizing National Work Zone Awareness Week in Wright County April 21 to April 25,” Board Chair Darek Vetsch said.

National Work Zone Awareness Week is an annual spring campaign held at the start of the roadway construction season to encourage safe driving through work zones. The key takeaways from the week are to get drivers to use extra caution in work zones, raise public awareness for work zones, get drivers to slow to posted speed limits and eliminate distractions while driving.
