A RESOLUTION
AUTHORIZING SUMMARY
PUBLICATION OF
ORDINANCE 2025-2
WHEREAS, the City Council of the City of Maple Lake has adopted Ordinance 2025-02, titled “AN ORDINANCE AMENDING THE MAPLE LAKE CITY CODE TO ENACT CHAPTER 17 FOR LICENSING AND REGULATION OF MASSAGE BUSINESSES AND SERVICES;” and
WHEREAS, in the case of lengthy ordinances or those containing charts or maps, Minnesota state law allows the City Council to approve, by a four-fifths vote, the publication of an ordinance by title and summary only; and
WHEREAS, the expense to publish the complete text of the ordinance is not justified; and
WHEREAS, the following summary clearly informs the public of the intent and effect of the ordinance.
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED, by the City Council of the City of Maple Lake, Wright County, Minnesota, that the following summary is hereby approved for publication:

ORDINANCE NO. 2025-02
The City Council of the City of Maple Lake has adopted Ordinance 2025-02, titled “AN ORDINANCE AMENDING THE MAPLE LAKE CITY CODE TO ENACT CHAPTER 17 FOR LICENSING AND REGULATION OF MASSAGE BUSINESSES AND SERVICES.”
The purpose of this ordinance is to prohibit massage businesses and services to the public except those licensed by the city as therapeutic massage enterprises and massage therapists. The license regulations are intended to protect businesses that are operating legitimate enterprises, to prevent criminal activity, and to protect the health and welfare of the community. The ordinance also provides sanctions and penalties for violations of the ordinance. The full text of the ordinance is available for inspection at Maple Lake City Hall during regular business hours.
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED, by the City Council of the City of Maple Lake, Wright County, Minnesota, that the City Administrator keep a copy of the ordinance at City Hall for public inspection during business hours and post a full copy of the ordinance at the community library or another public place in the City.
