St. Timothy Catholic Church in Maple Lake produced a Fall Festival that was bigger and better than ever on a perfect Sunday just right for getting out and having fun.
The Climbing Wall, a new addition to the festival, attracted long lines of climbers eager to scale its lofty heights on the St. Tim’s school grounds. This year’s Fall Festival co-chairs were Trent and Cheryl Carlson, and Rob and Joyce Bryce. Cheryl Carlson said the wall, along with two staff people, was obtained from the Hennepin County Parks System, which rents the popular wall to area organizations.
Carlson also noted other new festival attractions that included clown performances by Tricia and Dale Bothun, 521 pork chop dinners were served instead of the traditional chicken dinner, and a polka band consisting of Rob Bryce’s aunt and uncle, Gerald and Rosy Terhaar of Villard.
Carlson credited a considerable amount of teamwork for the success of this year’s Fall Festival, along with an assist from the weather. “The weather was on our side,” she said. “It was perfect.”
