Queen’s Banquet begins events for St. Pat’s Festival

Candidates for the title of Miss Maple Lake were working overtime on Sunday, participating in a style show and preparing sponsor commercials for the entertainment of the crowd attending the annual Queen’s Banquet at the Maple Lake American Legion.

The current royalty of Queen Brittany Gries, Princess Nicole Blizil and Princess Megan Ramsdell presided over the event, which also included a review of her experiences by 2009 Aquatennial candidate Lindsey Becker.

This year’s queen candidates and their sponsors are: Megan Carriveau, Maple Lake Lions and Madigan’s Pub and Grill; Meghan Couette, MP Integrated Solutions, Wright Service Center; Amber Davis, American Legion Post 131, River’s Precision; Brittany Hancock, First National Bank-Maple Lake; Donna Loch, Jude Vending/Advantage Paper, Maple Lake Trading Post; Danae McGregor, Maple Lake VFW Post 7664; Chelsea Rachel, Maple Lake Messenger, Roger’s BP Amoco; and Morgan Wolff, MP NexLevel, MP Technologies.

Following the dinner provided by Bonnie’s Maple Lake Cafe & Catering, the eight candidates introduced themselves and then prepared for a style show featuring apparal and accessories provided by Maurice’s of Buffalo.

The program concluded with informative and often humerous commercials prepared and presented by the candidates for their sponsors.
