School completes projects and welcomes students

By Katie Friedman, Correspondent:

At their most recent meeting, Monday, September 13, members of the Maple Lake School Board heard an update from Superintendent Mike Rowe on the state of the school district as a new school year begins.

Though students are back in the building this year, Covid-19 restrictions continue to dictate protocol. Current requirements make the wearing of masks optional, and Rowe said that option is allowed and supported for students and staff who chose to do so. Social distancing will not be required before or after school, in classrooms or in activities. Students and staff are asked to conduct a daily self-screening and to stay home if necessary. Students eat all meals in the cafeteria. Touchless water fountains remain in use, and students are encouraged to bring a transparent water bottle for personal use.
