M&P makes a good move

On the first 70 degree day this year, M&P Utilities, Linc.net made the move from Hamel to its new facilities in Maple Lake.

The perfect moving weather on April 20 must have been an omen of the good things to come for M&P in Maple Lake.

Computer technicians worked the night before in the new 31,000 square-foot building, installing equipment that was up and running as moving vans arrived. M&P President Larry Pribyl estimated that the office staff would be organized in the new building in one week and in two weeks, the shop crew would begin their move. “Hopefully by the end of May, everybody will be moved out here,” he said.

When the move is completed, a staff of about 50 will occupy the new facilities on Cty. Rd. 37, which is just the tip of the M&P iceberg. The company founded in 1973 by Maple Lake residents Bob Muller, who retired last year, and Larry Pribyl, M&P president, is a leading provider of telecom installation and construction services. Pribyl estimated that M&P coordinates the activities of about 500 Linc.net employees in the Central Division, which stretches east to Ohio, south to Louisiana and west to Idaho. The Maple Lake facility will serve as the hub for that region, with staffers from around the country making use of the nearby Maple Lake Airport to touch base with the home office.

And Pribyl is pleased that the home office is now in Maple Lake.

“I’ve never worked this close to home,” he laughed, noting that many of the other M&P staff are also Maple Lake residents. He said that his company is looking forward to the positive effects that moving M&P home to Maple Lake will bring to this community.

“Maple Lake’s been very good to us”.
