Two file for city office election

The period of filing for city offices opened on Tuesday, August 24, and will close on Tuesday, September 7, at 5 p.m.

Maple Lake city offices up for election are a two-year term for mayor and two council seats for four-year terms. Those positions are currently held by Mayor Mike Messina and council members Judith Kelly and John Northenscold.

As of press time on Tuesday, both Kelly and Northenscold have filed for re-election.

Anyone seeking to file for office can do so during the city hall office hours of 7:30 a.m. to 4 p.m., Monday through Friday.
