Maple Lake’s unique all-volunteer library is continuing to make friends and fans throughout the state.
On June 25, Lorraine Rybak-Mesken, the mother of Minneapolis Mayor R.T. Rybak, made a return visit to the library in Maple Lake and was presented by her new friends at the library with an official Maple Lake Library volunteer shirt. Lorraine, whose birthday falls on St. Patrick’s Day, has pledged to return with her son, the mayor, to attend Maple Lake’s St. Patrick’s Day celebration in March.
Pictured with Mesken is library volunteer Wendy Kelly, Lorraine’s granddaughter, Tori Vogel, and library volunteers Pat Meyer, Helen Mooney, Terry Mooney, Jan Bakeberg and Margaret Jenniges.
