This should be my last column from Lake Ridge Care Center inasmuch as they are kicking me out on April 18.
I’ve been here for about a month rehabbing my left hip and with COVID – 19 still very much alive I feel fortunate to have escaped the virus so far. It seems like there have been changes in the safety routine every week, if not more often.
First it was masks for the staff, then the therapists were issued safety glasses and more recently everyone is wearing a flip down plastic shield that looks like something a woodworker might wear while sawing through material.
I noticed Dingmann Mortuary dressed up there Annandale funeral home with balloons to represent mourners on Channel 9. People are getting creative while being isolated! Easter, the largest festival in the Christian world, brought out a lot of creativity as the faithful were reminded of the resurrection and the promises that go with it.
