Despite a high scoring, action packed first inning the Lakers came up short in the North Star League opener that pitted the home team against the Hutchinson Huskers at Irish Stadium, Monday, July 6.

The Huskies put up four runs in the opening inning, but the Lakers answered with four of their own to tie the game 4-4. Over the next eight innings the Huskies re-gained the lead. The Lakers attempted a late-game rally, but came up short, leaving a few on in the ninth. The final score was 10-7 in the Huskers favor.

The Lakers return to action on Wednesday, July 8 at home when they take on the Montrose/Waverly Stingers at 7:30 p.m. in Maple Lake.
