MLHS grad helps develop innovative way to read the news

David Stokman has been in the news many times for his prowess on the basketball court.
Broken records and numerous awards during his combined eight years playing for Maple Lake High School and St. John’s University have gotten his name in print plenty.
No stranger to being in the news, today, the acclaimed athlete is making reporting the news his business.
David and his cousin John Stokman have developed a way to make U.S. and world news more digestible with their on-line news brief, The News Memo (TNM). The two produced their first issue 18 months ago and now have more than 1,000 subscribers. The memo is distributed every Friday as an email newsletter but is also available to non-subscribers on their website, www.thenewsmemo.com, in a regular webpage format.
