COVID can’t stop energy, generosity at St. Tim’s marathon

By Brenda Erdahl

The COVID-19 pandemic didn’t dim the enthusiasm of St. Timothy students who set out to peddle or walk their way toward an $18,000 goal and a chance to see their principal or priest kiss a fish, Saturday, Oct. 10 during the Catholic school’s annual bike marathon fundraiser.

The weather cooperated nicely for the event that this year was held completely outside due to the pandemic. The pandemic also inspired the theme, “Uff-Da! God bless MN!” which organizers said seemed fitting for the 2020 marathon.  The pandemic didn’t however, dampen the kids energy come race day or the generosity of the community that helped the school surpass is $18,000 goal, and the money is still coming in, organizer Andrea McBrady said.
