Whenever I see a story about Minnesota’s Northwest Angle Inlet I tend to get excited because I have fished out of several fishing camps or resorts on the Angle on an almost annual basis since 1975. The story that caught my attention over the weekend was about the ice road which has been developed by the Angle’s fishing camps in an attempt to attract winter anglers. The road to the Angle was closed between Minnesota and Canada because of the Covid 19 virus and that had a drastic economical impact on the resorts last summer. We stayed at Prothero’s Fishing Camp and the proprietor (Grace Prothero) informed us they had 60 cancellations because of the closed road last summer. I haven’t seen any new information that the Canadian government will allow visitors this year.
