The Wright County Highway Department got a lot done in 2020 despite a global pandemic, according to an annual report submitted to the Wright County Board on Tuesday, Aug. 31.
Commissioners planned to review the 110-page report and accept it at their Tuesday, Sept. 7 meeting.
Like everyone else, the Highway Department had to learn a new way of operating in 2020. Staff in the Engineering Division and Accounting Division went to remote working while Highway Maintenance and Fleet Services staff who couldn’t work from home, worked diligently to follow all recommended COVID protocols.
Despite all that, the Highway Department completed about $26 million worth of engineering, right-of-way, and contract construction work on the County’s highway system in 2020.
