A healthy crowd gave generously at Maple Lake Library’s Annual Fundraiser, Saturday, Oct. 15 at the V by HH.
Early estimates indicate they raised about $20,000 for the all-volunteer run library which will support close to half of its yearly expenses. The goal was $25,000, event Chairperson Vicki Decker said, “but ($20,000) is still a substantial amount,” she said. Decker and other volunteers spent numerous hours planning Saturday’s event and it seemed to go over well if the smiles on the faces of the guests were any indication.
Harney Heeralall catered the chicken and beef dinner, which Decker said was “delicious” and with the help of a few high school volunteers (Tucker, Lexi and Joey), served a total of 95 meals.
