RESOLUTION NO. 2022-46
RESOLUTION AUTHORIZING PUBLICATION OF
ORDINANCE NO. 2022-7 BY TITLE AND SUMMARY
NWHEREAS, the city council of the city of Maple Lake has adopted Ordinance No. 2022-7, an ordinance creating a new chapter 56 of the Maple Lake City Code regarding legalized tetrahydrocannabinol products; and
WHEREAS, Minnesota Statues § 412.191, subdivision 4 allows publication by title and summary in the case of lengthy ordinances or those containing charts or maps; and
WHEREAS, the city council believes that the following summary would clearly inform the public of the intent and effect of the ordinance.
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED by the city council of the city of Maple Lake that city staff shall cause the following summary of Ordinance No. 2022-7 to be published in the official newspaper in lieu of the ordinance in its entirety:
Public Notice
The city council of the city of Maple Lake has adopted Ordinance No. 2022-7, an ordinance creating a new chapter 56 of the Maple Lake City Code regarding legalized tetrahydrocannabinol products. The ordinance establishes a city licensing program for businesses in the city that seek to sell tetrahydrocannabinol products that otherwise meet the requirements to be sold for human or animal consumption under Minnesota Statutes, section 151.72. The full text of the ordinance is available at city hall during regular business hours.
BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED by the city council of the City of Maple Lake that the city administrator keep a copy of the ordinance at city hall for public inspection and post a full copy of the ordinance in the community library, if there is one, or if not, at another public place within the city.
