Star Bank, with offices located in Annandale and Maple Lake, has recently seen an increase in numerous customers who reported spoofing phones.
“The scammers have been able to spoof our Maple Lake phone number, so it looks like Star Bank is calling the customer,” said Alissa Sandholm of Star Bank’s Eden Prairie location.
Suspicious calls
“We encourage our customers to stay vigilant about the different types of scams going around,” said Justine Charmoli, Star Bank, Maple Lake. “Stopping a scammer in their tracks starts with knowing the signs of a scam. A bank will never call and ask you for personal information. If you receive a call that feels suspicious, hang up immediately and contact your bank from the number listed on their website,” she said.
