Accident involves Allina ambulance

It’s not often a person gets into two collisions in one day, but that’s what happened in Buffalo Township last week. The accident, which resulted in non-life-threatening injuries for all involved, happened around 6:45 p.m. on Thursday, July 6.

According to Wright County deputies and first responders, an Allina Ambulance driving at posted speeds without emergency lights activated was traveling westbound on County Road 34 NE towards Buffalo with two medics on board and a patient from an earlier crash that took place nearby. The ambulance was being operated by an Allina EMT when it approached the intersection of County Rd. 34 NE and Eaken Ave NE. A Toyota RAV4 was travelling northbound on Eaken Ave NE and pulled out from a stop sign in front of the ambulance causing the collision. The Driver and an adult passenger from the RAV4 were taken to North Memorial Hospital with non-life-threatening injuries. The occupants of the ambulance suffered minor injuries and the patient in the ambulance suffered additional minor injuries and was transported to the Buffalo Hospital. Both vehicles sustained significant damage and were towed from the scene.
