Members of the local 4-H clubs did well in all categories at all ages at the recent Wright County Fair and many will go on to represent their local clubs at the Minnesota State Fair Aug. 24 to Sept. 4. Pictured above are the top four show persons representing all 4-H’ers showing livestock and horse at the county fair this year. Each specie (Dairy, beef, poultry, horse, rabbit, sheep, swine, goat) sends its top two showmen to represent for top overall honors. Each 4-Her is put through rigorous stations incorporating showing each type of animal/bird and testing their knowledge of industry and specie-based questions. From left is Mason Glessing, Waverly; John Otto, Delano; Natalie Neumann, Buffalo; Wyatt Glessing, Waverly. Mason and Wyatt tied for 3rd, Otto was Grand Overall Round Robin Champion and Neumann was Reserve Overall Round Robin Showman Champion. Neumann, who is a member of the Farside 4H Club, was also Grand Champion Showperson for Rabbits and made state fair lineup with her New Zealand doe rabbit; was the grand Champion Market Chickens of Corning Crosses; was the Reserve Champion Bantam Breeding Chickens of Bantam Blue Orpingtons; received Champion and Reserve on her Brown Swiss heifers along with a state fair trip option and was Reserve Champion on Market Ducks of Jumbo Pekins.
