Story ends for local bookstore

December will be the final chapter in a long and illustrious story for local business, Book Break.

Owner Marilyn Groth will close the doors for the last time on Dec. 30th after more than 30 years in the business. Groth who turns 77 this year, said it is time to retire.

Groth started the business in her home in 1980. She called it the Sullivan Lake Book Swap Shop and her inventory consisted of used books that people would trade in for other used books.

“My kids were little, and I thought this was something I could do short term in our basement,” she said.
