The Maple Lake girls basketball team is 0-2 after two losses to start the season.
The Irish traveled to face the Rockford Rockets in their first game, Tuesday, Nov. 28.
By halftime, Rockford had gained a 24-13 lead over the Irish. In the second half the home team outscored the visitors 23-15 for a final 28-47 loss for Maple Lake.
Tessa Pribyl led scoring for the Irish, putting up seven points. She also had six rebounds and one assist. Avery Lee contributed five points and Aleigha Jensen, Emily Larson and Grace Ronnenberg each had four.
On Thursday, Nov. 30 the Irish hosted Big Lake and fell 56-27.
The Maple Lake team got down early, ending the first half in a 14-30 deficit. Big Lake continued to outplay the home team, scoring 26 points to Maple Lake’s 13.
Lee led scoring with 11 points, three rebounds and two assists. Pribyl contributed 10 points. She also had 15 rebounds.
On Tuesday, Dec. 5, the Irish hosted Paynesville in their first Central Minnesota Conference match-up of the year. Results were not available at press time.

On Friday, Dec. 8, the Irish travel to Holdingford for a 7 p.m. game. On Tuesday, Dec. 12, the Maple Lake team will host Legacy Christian Academy at 5:45 p.m. There is also a boys basketball game at Maple Lake that evening at 7 p.m. The Irish boys will take on Holdingford.
