On Tuesday, Dec. 17 at its regular meeting, Wright County Commissioners adopted resolutions setting the 2025 budget and levy.
This action was the final step in the 2024 budget cycle. All counties in Minnesota are required to adopt a final budget and levy and submit it to the Minnesota Department of Revenue by Dec. 30. A public budget meeting was held at 6 p.m. on Dec. 5 to receive comments regarding the budget as required by statute.
The payable 2025 property tax levy is $100,422,479.
The revenue and expenditure budget totals by fund are as follows:
The General Revenue Fund is expected to see revenues and expenditures of $106,070,420; Road and Bridge expects revenue and expenditures of $51,807,083; Health and Human Services have calculated revenues and expenditures at $37,937,170; Debt Service revenue and expenditures are $12,228,511; Capital Project revenues and expenditures are anticipated to be $3,023,500 and Lake Improvement Districts revenue and expenditures has been set at $172,200.
“Staff worked hard to mitigate impact on taxpayers but meet the needs of citizens,” Commissioner Darek Vetsch said. Both resolutions were passed 4-1.
